In the context of the INTERREG ECORIS3 project which aims at promoting better policies and measures to support local and regional innovation ecosystems within RIS3 strategies, a lot of attention was paid to the Blue Biotechnology sector (with a major involvement of UBO and UALG). One of the outcomes of the project was an inventory of jobs and professions needed in the blue biotechnology sector. All blue biotech areas (plant based, microbiota based, or fish and aquaculture based) require marine professionals with an academic research background that have a broad interdisciplinary view on the sector.
