The Polytechnic School of the Coast, ESPOL, was born as a regional need to have scientific-technical higher education institutions located on the coatal region of Ecuador. It was created by Executive Decree No. 1664 issued by the President of the Republic, Dr. Camilo Ponce Enríquez, on October 29, 1958.

MISSION

To train professionals of excellence, socially responsible, leaders, entrepreneurs, with moral and ethical principles and values, that contribute to the scientific, technological, social, economic, environmental and political development of the country; and, to do research, innovation, technology transfer and extension of quality to serve society.
